Nebbiolo based wine: a refined aroma with hints of vanilla
Vallée d’Aoste Arnad-Montjovet DOC is a dry flavoured, red wine with hints of leather and the land, recalling those prestigious wines from the Nebbiolo based, Piedmont Pre-Alpine area. The vines used for its production, located around the lands of Arnad and the surrounding municipalities (Hône, Verrès, Issogne, Challand-Saint-Victor, Champdepraz and Montjovet), areNebbiolo (min 70%), Dolcetto, Pinot Nero, Neyret, Freisa and Vien de Nus (max 30%).
Arnad-Montjovet offers a firm, alcohol content (12°-13°), particularly the Supérieur version which is obtained from "limited production" vineyards located in the heart of this geographical area. This wine differs from the traditional version due to a slightly higher, natural alcohol content and a longer aging period. It has a refined and intense aroma, with hints of spices and, when matured in wooden barrels, offers a vanilla scent.
Connoisseurs recommend you should open a bottle a few hours before serving (particularly the Supérieur version), by transferring the wine to a carafe and pouring at the right room temperature of 18°-20°. Ideal with local Arnad Lard.
