For cross-country skiing, the Aosta Valley offers hundreds of kilometers of trails always perfectly prepared both for classical skiing and skating. Many ski resorts also have a "Foyer de fond"with waxing rooms, changing rooms and showers.
Trails often pass through the wilderness at the foot of majestic mountains where it is not unheard of to see wild animals too.

In some places, such as in Cogne or in the Val Ferret, in addition to the cross-country trails, there are also pedestrian paths and snowshoe trails.
