Taking the train, a carefree choice
Reaching the Aosta Valley by train is a splendid alternative to avoid road traffic, the fog of the winter months and, why not, pollution.
Aosta railway station is situated close to old city centre and near the gondola station linking the town to the Pila skiing district.
Aosta is directly connected without changes with the stations of Turin Porta Nuova and Turin Porta Susa with over 20 daily trips. Journey time is less than 120 minutes.
The main Aosta Valley railway stations along the central valley (Pont-Saint-Martin, Verrès and Châtillon/Saint-Vincent) are connected to the side valleys by bus services with departures generally related to train timetables.
Arriving by train from Milan is possible in about 180 minutes, with a train change at Chivasso station.
Attention: due to railway electrification works, the rail transport service along the Ivrea-Aosta stretch, from 3 January 2024 until 13 December 2026, is carried out by bus. |
