Brunet Piero Winery

Wine  -  Morgex

The winery is located in Morgex, a town a few kilometers from Mont Blanc. The business started in 1985 when Piero regained the family land and also bought other lands from “Curé Bougeat”, historic promoter in the 1960s of the famous Blanc de Morgex wine.
Piero’s family cultivates the Prié Blanc grape heroically and with great passion at altitudes that can reach 1.200 metres. His wife Rosina and his two daughters Ilaria and Monica collaborate in the processing of the vineyards with traditional methods but also with the help of high-tech machinery.
The area planted with vines, in traditional low pergola stone terraces, reaches 5.000 square metres.

Cave Mont Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle

Wine  -  Morgex

La Cave Mont Blanc was founded in 1983 and today has about 80 owners who passionately cultivate 18 hectares of vineyards. The goal is to make the most of the authenticity and originality of the grape/terroir combination. La Cave adopts a rigorous enological philosophy that allows Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle to completely express the uniqueness of its characteristics. In the last stretch of Valle d’ Aosta, at the foot of Mont Blanc, the cultivation of grapevines rises to prohibitive heights reaching 1200 m. Ours are among the vineyards that grow at the highest altitudes in Europe. The area of cultivation extends into the territories along the orographic left of the Dora Baltea in the municipalities of Morgex and La Salle.
Vallée d’Aoste D.O.C. (Controlled Designation of Origin) Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle is produced using exclusively the Prié Blanc biotype Blanc de Morgex grape, the only variety of white grapes that is native to Valle d’Aosta, naturally selected over the centuries. Its characteristic is to complete its entire vegetative cycle in a very short period of time, due to its late budding and early ripening. Prié Blanc is grown on low pergolas to avoid damage from wind and winter frost and to take advantage of the heat from the ground. Reproduction still today takes place by means of the system of layers or viaungrafted shoots, since the grafting on American vines is not necessary. In fact, at these altitudes, the phylloxera, the terrible insect that camefrom the Americas at the end of the 19th century, cannot cause damage to the vine. The particular climatic conditions make it possible to limit pesticide treatments, obtaining a product with a high degree of genuineness.

Pavese Ermes Winery

Wine  -  Morgex

The winery was founded in 1999, it is located in the village Ruine of Morgex. It is about lands that have always been linked to the cultivation of the native grape prié blanc; a ‘heroic’ cultivation that takes places in a traditional way with a low pergola, both to protect the grape from the low temperatures and to allow it to grow at high altitudes.
The family is the engine and the heart of the company and Ermes follows all the production steps that lead to the birth of the traditional Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle, classic method, aged in barrique (that was given the name of Ermes’son Nathan) and late harvest. The wine is named Ninive.
Ermes Pavese winery is in several prestigious guides of the sector.
