Description of the route
A quiet walk along the coniferous forest on the edge of the stream connects Rhêmes-Notre-Dame to Lake Pellaud. It is also possible to continue until the village of Thumel.
The route starts from Chanavey following the snowy and beaten road (closed to traffic during the winter). On the way, it is common to see animals on the slope on the east side, where in spring the snow melts more quickly, and which presents steep rocky areas often frequented by ibexes.
An alternative route from Chanavey crosses the bridge over the stream and partly follows the cross-country ski track (which should not be trampled) and goes on through the larch and alder woods along the brook (Doire de Rhêmes) and between the houses of the villages of Oreiller and Bruil. Beyond Bruil, the path runs along the stream to Chaudanne and, after the village, to the Pellaud area.
