Hike to the Miserin refuge

Circular itinerary between the Dondenz and Miserin refuges, in the footsteps of King Vittorio Emanuele II

Excursion approximately 9 km long, 500 metres of altitude difference uphill (the same downhill) to be taken in a few hours of slow and quiet walk.

You drive up the whole Champorcher valley among dense forests and waterfalls to reach the Dondenaz car park via a dirt road.  You will reach the Miserin lake from a hidden path where cars do not pass. After taking a bent, you will be amazed by the extraordinary wonder of the lake. Once you return to the car park, your eyes will be still full of beauty.

• Hiking time: 2 and a half hours
• Height difference: 500 m. Time of ascent: 1 hour and a half
• Height difference: 500 m. Time of descent: 1 hour
• Necessary equipment: hiking boots, thermos with soft drinks, sunscreen and sunglasses
• Recommended equipment: hiking poles, cap, rainproof jacket, a fleece pullover, breathable T-shirt, and camera
