Breuil-Cervinia – Ski for All Abilities

The hotel is in a quiet location, just a few metres form the pedestrian area and the ski slopes. A mountain atmosphere and a first class welcome. The Restaurant is managed by the hotel owners and serves traditional Val d'Aosta and Italian dishes.
The atmosphere invoked by the open fireplace and the bar's cocktails will be the perfect end to a day on the ski slopes.

As a result of the mapping carried out in 2023 as part of the "Lo sci per tutte le abilità" (skiing for everyone) project, the following was found:

• Entrance without significant height differences
• 3 accessible rooms with toilets with the required dimensions and aids
• 2 lifts, one of which is smaller than prescribed

A large, modern, traditional mountain building at the foot of Mount Cervino, the hotel is set in a quiet and panoramic position, near the ski-lifts directly overlooking the Grandes Murailles glacier and the Matterhorn massif. The rooms are elegantly furnished. The restaurant serves traditional Italian dishes and regional specialities.

Accessibility

As a result of the mapping carried out in 2023 as part of the "Lo sci per tutte le abilità" (skiing for everyone) project, the following was found:

• Access to the hotel can be gained directly from an elevator platform.
• There are 4 accessible rooms with their own en-suite bathrooms, which can be reached via a stairlift located on the staircase handrail.

The ski school was founded in 1999.
Composed of a group of highly specialised instructors, the new ski school wants to guarantee a professional, high quality service for its customers.
A significant part of the programme is for children.
Instructors available for ski, snowboard, freeride, freestyle, telemark and snowshoes; in addiition, there are instructors for technical improvement, such as a national instructor and two federal trainers.

The Cervino ski school was founded in 1936: 5 instructors make up its core. The road had arrived there in 1935 and thus Cervinia had just been created. At that time the royal family resided for months at the feet of the Matterhorn (Cervino), with their guests, including some representing the great European Families; and it was the era of the first races on the snow between the historical university teams from Oxford and Cambridge.
Next came the war and with it all activity sank into forced oblivion, this happened to the school as well. The town returned to life right after 1945 and skiing witnessed an unstoppable development.
Styles and champions followed each other without interruption. The great Zeno Colò established a great downhill record on the Ventina slope.
Leo Gasperl, trainer for the national team for years, with his style combining elegance and speed, spent his time on some experiments.
He could be seen struggling with the flights produced by the Tirringmantel technique, the white cloak which let skiers suspend their jump until they were almost flying.
From snowploughing to parallel turns the Cervino ski instructors passed down and continue to pass down their styles and elegance. Their excellent clients have included Onassis, Niarkos, Von Karajan, the Queen of Holland, Tyrone Power, Aga Kahn and many other figures of Italian and foreign show business.

• Access by car from the private road at the back of the building

• The ski rental below instead has steps at the entrance

The ski school is composed by ski instructors and coaches of federal technical school for the different activities: alpine skiing, snowboard and telemark.
In order to satisfy the needs of an international custom, it offers knowledge of the following languages: Italian, English, French, Russian, German and Spanish.

Instructors available for alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowbaording, training, individual or Group lessons, freestyle and freeride.

The rental shop is located next to the Cervino cableways departure station.
Storage, service and sale of sports articles.

• Property near the public road with independent access from the outside with  metal ramp.
• Entrance with automatic opening

Between large vaults, stone walls, a large central fireplace, and candlelight, a very pleasant restaurant opens up with dishes made from local ingredients and the purest raw materials that Chef Andrea Rizzo expertly orchestrates.

• No significant differences in level for the access to the property
• All floors of the building are connected by an internal lift
• Toilets for the common areas are accessible
• The outdoor area of ​​the restaurant is accessible.

The restaurant is located inside the 4-star Excelsior Planet Hotel, in the center of Cervinia. • The route between the cableway station and the restaurant is on a dirt road in summer and on snow in winter
• Access to the property does not have significant differences in level from the side door of the main entrance.
• The toilets are not suitable for wheelchairs.
• The outdoor area of the restaurant is accessible.
