July: thrills of sport, nature and tradition
Sport and nature
Summer bursts into life at the foot of Mont Blanc, among the magic of the Peuterey wood and the vibrant energy of Celtica, the highest Celtic culture festival in Europe: from July 3 to 6, Courmayeur’s Val Veny hosts concerts, workshops and artists from all over the world.
Not far away, La Thuile becomes the world capital of mountain biking with the UCI World Cup of Downhill and Enduro (also from July 3 to 6), offering a mix of high-adrenaline races and alpine relaxation.
In the Matterhorn valley, Torgnon comes alive with equestrian events: an endurance race from July 4 to 6, and show jumping from July 11 to 13.
From July 14 to 20, the entire area celebrates the Matterhorn with a week of cultural and sporting events including summer skiing, guided hikes, golf lessons, local crafts and music.
In Chamois, the Chamoisic music festival fills the car-free village – accessible only by cable car or on foot – with experimental, folk and contemporary sounds.
