Ninì Pietrasanta and Gabriele Boccalatte - The great mountaineering of the early twentieth century
The exhibition celebrates the life and achievements of Ninì Pietrasanta, one of the most important and influential mountaineers of her time, and her life and climbing partner Gabriele Boccalatte.
Ninì was not only an extraordinary climber, but also an exceptional documentary maker, capable of immortalizing her adventures through writings, photographs and films. Her photo albums represent documents of rare importance, testifying to the courage and passion that guided her.
The exhibition features nine sculptures by Marina Torchio, made of stoneware, depicting Ninì and Gabriele, thus creating a further reading of the characters. Also within the exhibition, Ninì's photo albums are on display, volumes of immense historical value that document her intense mountaineering activity. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the screening of the award-winning film “Ninì” by Gigi Giustiniani and Raffaele Rezzonico, for Associazione La Fournaise.
The exhibition is open every day, except Wednesday, from 6 December 2024 to 30 April 2025 at the Alpine Guides Museum in Courmayeur from 9am to 12.30pm and from 4pm to 7pm.
