Mask parade (Les Landzette) and visit to families
The main characters of the Sorreley Carnival are the Landzette: characters dressed in a kind of colored frock coat, enriched with glitter, small mirrors and pearls. They wear a picturesque trapezoid hat and bells on their belts, holding a ponytail to tickle onlookers; a guedda/guide who brandishes a flag and leads the march followed by the players; the musicians; lo vioù é la vieille: two ancient figures who animate the parade with their disputes and their attempts at infidelity; the tamer, who tries in vain to prevent the bear from scaring the public and despite the beatings always manages to take a spectator into his arms. The group of masks follows an established route, preceded by the musicians and, while dancing and having fun with the public, stops at every house they encounter along the way. Each family welcomes them by offering them food and drinks.
