Nordic skiing in the suggestive tranquillity of Bionaz (also biathlon), Ollomont and Valpelline
Bionaz, the last municipality in Valpelline, situated at an altitude of 1600 metres, is a well equipped Nordic ski resort, far from the great masses of skiers. The district has excellent slopes, suitable for all levels of ability. One slope, with a Biathlon rifle range, allows cross-country skiers, to cross the forests surrounding lake Lexert, passing through exceptional natural landscapes, possibly alongside the champions and Olympic champions who choose
this as their training locality. The tracks extend for an overall length of 10 km, over three circuits of 2, 3 and 5 km respectively. Along these routes you will cross forests and upland plains, ski alongside lakes and magical landscapes, in an environment that rewards physical activity. The slopes that extend between the main town of Ollomont (1340 m) and the snowy meadows in the hamlets of Rey and Vouéce, for a total length of 7.5 km, are characterised by suggestive panoramas: the imposing mountain chain that divides
the upper valley of Ollomont and Switzerland, primarily dominated by Mount Velan (3708 m) and by the Grand Combin (4314 m). The cross-country ski slope at Valpelline (1000 m), with start and arrival points in the hamlet of Pravillair, is an internationally recognised resort which due to its characteristics is also able to meet the needs of both starters and more experiencedskiers.
