L'Onda rock climbing wall

Climbing walls  -  Rhêmes-Saint-Georges

The wall is clearly visible from the road and includes a very steep sector to the left and a slightly steep sector to the right. It is good for endurance despite the short routes. Many holds have been comfortized where particularly difficult but endurance climbers still love the routes. Anchoring is good, made up with fixes with chain plus belay stops.
The activity requires technical experience. Alpine guide assistance is recommended.

Descent: Stops have chains and belays and climbers abseil down on 50 meter cords.

Minimum, maximum and average route difficulty from 6a to 8b+, average 7c.

Total number of routes: 30

Average length is 18 meters with a minimum of 12 and maximum of 22 meters.

Frassiney - Vérogne

The path starts on the left near the fork for Frassiney hamlet on the regional road n.24 that goes up to Rhêmes-Notre-Dame.
After the bridge you get deeply in the t*hick pine forest*, where sometimes you have the chance to meet the fauna of Gran Paradiso National Park.
At the end you’ll reach Vérogne hamlet, a forgotten corner from where you can enjoy a beautiful view on Mont Fallère peak.

Le Courthoud - Alpe Lor

One-day excursions  -  Rhêmes-Saint-Georges

By car continue on regional road n.24 after Rhêmes-Saint-Georges until Proussaz hamlet, then turn right and go up and reach *Plan-Praz hamle*t and finally Le Courthoud.
After leaving the car, from here take the gravel road that goes up to Alpe Lor mountain pastures through woods and meadows.
The gravel road continues until Alpe Felumaz mountain pastures at 2232 m.

Melignon - Feleumaz

When you get to Melignon, a hamlet in the municipality of Rhêmes-Saint-Georges, take route 18 which goes up the hillside. Before crossing the stream on the itinerary that leads to Champ-Chevalé, take the branch of the trail (still no. 18) which rises to the left and leads to Alpe Feulemaz.

Rhêmes-Saint-Georges - Gerbelle Dessus

After leaving the car in the parking lot just before the church and the parish museum of Rhêmes-Saint-Georges, go up on the right and take the route on the left that in the woods, on gravel road, reaches after several hairpin bends Gerbelle Dessous and Gerbelle Dessus hamlet.
For those who wish to continue, it’s possible to reach Champromenty mountain pastures at 1815 m. You can reach this area also taking the path 3A that starts at the same departure point and goes up in the woods.

Rhêmes-Saint-Georges - Mont Paillasse

Take the mule track signposted 4 near the old chapel of Rhêmes-Saint-Georges, which goes up among the meadows and woods and intersects the road for Verrogne. Continue up, past the ruins of the hamlet of Traversa (1620 m), until you come to the dirt road, which you follow for a few hundred metres, until you see a path on the right that goes up to Champromenty (1819 m). Now follow the dirt road to reach Col du Mont Blanc. Continue along the right ridge, first over a wide track and then on the path, until you eventually reach the peak of Mont Paillasse.

Rhêmes-Saint-Georges - Vérogne

Leave the car near the parish church and continue until the beginning of the gravel road.
After a few minutes turn right following the signs for Vérogne.
After about 30 minutes you’ll reach Ronc hamlet and continue for a quite steep long stretch. Then turn left and get deeply in the thick larch forest.
The itinerary ends in Vérogne village from where you can enjoy a beautiful view on Mont Fallère peak.

Sarral - Champromenty

When you get to the village of Sarral, in the municipality of Rhêmes-Saint-Georges which lies in the area just before the capital, take the road on the left, route 3 which rises up into the woods just beyond the houses. Cross a private road and continue along the same itinerary to reach Gerbelle Désot, near which, take the track that joins the trail on the right. After the left-hand bend, go up up a few dozen metres more until you reach the path that goes off to the right. In a short time you come to Gerbelle Damon. Continue along the dirt road for a few dozen metres, then leave it on the left to join route 3. From here, the trail continues inside the conifer wood, crosses the private road then joins it just before the village of Champromenty. Continue on the right to reach the above village in a few minutes.

Coveyrand/Vérogne

Snowshoe  -  Rhêmes-Saint-Georges

Leave the car near the parish church and continue until the beginning of the road. After a few minutes turn right following the signs to Vérogne and you will reach Le Coveyrand village. After two sharp bends and about 30 minutes stand Ronc hamlet and continue for a rather long and straight stretch. Then turn left and get deeply into the thick larch forest. The itinerary ends in Vérogne village from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Mont Fallère peak.
