Dortoir - “Lou Mayèn de Léne” is located in the town of Trayo of the hamlet of Epinel in the municipality of Cogne, immerse in the nature, flora and fauna of the Gran Paradiso National Park at the foot of the homonymous glacier of Trayo. The establishment saw the light from a renovated farm village, part of small village of Epinel used by breeders for grazing and milk processing up to mid 60s. Dortoir is at 2,040 m a.s.l. and is accessible via several footpaths; the busiest one starts from the hamlet of Epinel and, in about an hour and a half walk, you will reach Dortoir. The cottage is composed of an entrance, a bathroom with all facilities, kitchen area and dining area, a sleeping space a loft area. The facility is suitable as a refreshment point for those who want to go on excursions in the area or who just want to enjoy the tranquility of the place. After booking, the keys will be consigned by the Manager in the hamlet Epinel 179.

How to get here

By car

Motorway exit Aosta west - Aymavilles. After the tollbooth, turn right following the directions to Aymavilles – Cogne and head towards the town. Pass in front of the Aymavilles castle then, turning right, continue for about 20 km o the regional road to the hamlet of Epinel of the municipality of Cogne. Reached this point, you can contact the Manager for the keys. Path no. 27 starts from the hamlet of Epinel near the Sports Centre (football field) where you can leave your vehicle in the spacious public parking area.

By public transport

Bus service available departing from Aosta to Epinel, with several stops (about 6 trips daily).
