The trail takes you along the alpine pastures of the head of the Val di Rhêmes. From Thumel village (1.879 m asl), the trail follow the easy path that leads to the Refuge Benevolo (2.285 m asl), which will be reached after about 2 hours of walking. Next, we will proceed along the local path n°13D, which exceeds the steep step of confluence wich separate the “comba goletta” from the main valley floor. Then the itinerary follows the river outlet of the lake Goletta (2.699 m asl) and, after about 3.00 h, 3h 30 min of walking, we will arrive at the aforementioned lake where we will take our lunch break. From here we can see the goletta glacier that once lapped the shores of the homonym lake. The return route is common with the way we previously done until the end of the aforementioned “comba goletta”: from here we will proceed along the north-south direction on the local path 14A that will lead us to the place of departure.
Because the trip requires a good workout, the tour is only recommended for adults or children trained over the age of 10 years.
