Description of the itinerary:
The itinery starts from Valnontey. You reach first the Vittorio Sella Refuge in the splendid basin of Luson, and then the homonymous ponds. Soon after the small mountain lakes, the most difficult and technical section of the itinarary will begin, with the crossing of exposed sections recommended only for experienced hikers, up to near the cottages. From here on the itinarary will be more simple descending to the valley floor, and will lead you back to the starting point in Valnontey.

The crossing from the Vittorio Sella to the Casolari dell’Herbetet refuge is one of the most spectacular itineraries in the Cogne Valley, in the heart of the Gran Paradiso National Park, to sight heards of ibex. You can enjoy spectacular views of the Gran Paradiso from scenic natural terraces. One in particular: the terrace of Plan Resello, simply fantastic.
