La Thuile celebrates its Patron Saint's Day with a program of entertainment, music and popular sports which culminates with the traditional "badoche".
During the saint’s feast day, a special tradition comes to life: the Badoche, whose origins may date back to initiation celebrations typical of the early ethnic tribes, including the Celts. The protagonists of this rite are a group of young unmarried men and women: the first badouchì, who leads the group, carries a plate decorated with flowers and ribbons to collect offerings, while another badouchì carries the traditional halberd, a stick adorned with multicolored ribbons with the names of the children born in the year.
