Courmayeur celebrates the "Giro d'Italia"

Courmayeur celebrates the arrival of the Saint-Vincent - Courmayeur stage of the “Giro d’Italia” with three days of music, entertainment and sport.
There are numerous installations dedicated to the Giro: in the Brocherel square a selfie point has been installed (a pink bike, like the symbolic color of the Giro, 190 cm high) and other bikes decorate the streets of the town. Even a cabin of the Skyway cable car was dyed pink for this occasion.
Friday 24 May at 4.30pm at the Jardin de l’Ange will be starred Felice Gimondi, one of the greatest cyclists of all time, who will retrace the history of Italian cycling and will tell his competitive experience. In his company the arrival of the Milan-Courmayeur cycle race will be awaited, an old-fashioned costume ride that, along some of the most beautiful roads in the Valle d’Aosta, will allow you to relive the atmosphere of cycling of the past. The ASD Polizia Milano Team will start, in fact, from the Vigorelli velodrome in Milan with bikes, uniforms and vintage vehicles, and after a stop at the monument of Maurice Garin in Arvier, it will arrive at the Jardin de l’Ange in Courmayeur at 5.30pm, where it will be welcomed by Felice Gimondi.
Saturday 25 May, the day of the arrival of the Pink Race, near the cable car Skyway Monte Bianco the village of the Giro d’Italia set up for the occasion will come to life starting from noon, waiting for the arrival of the riders estimated by 5pm. The village will offer the opportunity to taste the Aosta Valley food and wine excellence throughout the day. A concert of L’Orage is also scheduled at the Jardin de l’Ange at 7pm.
Shuttles will be available from the town center to Skyway and vice versa.
Sunday 26 May, from 10am to 6pm, the traditional food market takes place in Abbé Henry square, an opportunity to taste and discover the products of local artisan gastronomy. Also at 10am the gourmet ride starts, a bike tour to taste typical products through the hamlets of Courmayeur in the company of mountain bike instructors.
