The mountain guides of the Aosta Valley boast a tradition that stretches back a long way; many of them have written chapters in the history of mountaineering at its best, and continue to guarantee both thrills and safety to those who practise a wide range of mountain sports.
The mountain guide fest takes place in summer, on 15th August. During this day, alpine guides in the Aosta Valley organise events with spectacular displays of mountain-climbing ability and rock-climbing techniques.
