The international Merrell Skyrunner World Series circuit arrives in Valle d’Aosta and next spring will stop in Châtillon, where the fourth edition of the Monte Zerbion Skyrace will take place.
This is the big news, anticipated at the end of the last edition and now made official. Another prestigious milestone for an event that has focused on internationality since the beginning.
MZS22 – a 22 kilometre race with a passage at the summit of Zerbion – will be the ninth stage of the 23 planned by the circuit, which will involve the runners coming from 16 nations and 4 continents. Start and finish in Châtillon, in the middle a varied path, with sections to run and vertical passages. A not so high peak, which has however launched several skyrunning champions. The queen race will therefore assign points for the Merrell Skyrunner World Series circuit.
Part of the second skyrace changes, becoming 14.5 kilometre (1250 metres D+) and allowing you to discover other views of the territory. A less demanding test, but equally spectacular, with a turning point at the Cheney mountain pasture, at an altitude of 1790 metres.
The two verticals are confirmed. The 9.5 kilometre race with 2200 metres of positive difference in altitude starting from Châtillon and arriving at the top of Zerbion, has once again been included in the international VK Open Championships calendar, the same as last year. The 5.5 kilometre (850 metres D+) will once again be open to everyone, including < 18 and people with disabilities.
In the afternoon, the starting of the race dedicated to children followed by the prizegiving ceremony.
