This documentary highlights five stories of Aosta Valley emigrants to Quebec: from Valentina, who discovers Montreal for the first time, to Daniela and Loris, close cousins, one in Saint-Vincent and the other in Montreal, Manuela, who emigrated from Saint Pierre to Tadoussac for the love of studying whales and belugas, the Maquignaz brothers from Valtournenche, the third generation of emigrants, and finally Osvalda, who emigrated by boat from the port of Le Havre to Quebec in 1950.
The screening will be followed by a discussion on the documentary work carried out over the last three years as part of the ‘La Mémoire de l'Émigration’ project, and on future prospects.
The documentary is narrated in French and Italian.
