As part of the Journées de la Francophonie, a conference on the theme of the Renaissance.
There has been a lot of discussion recently about whether or not to use the plural form of the term Renaissance, a concept that has been thought through and rethought in the same way as Humanism: a Renaissance, the one between Italy and France, not devoid of ambiguities, hidden emulations and mutual distrust, a Renaissance ‘contesa’, to use the title of Giovanni Ricci's fine book.
With Rosanna Gorris Camos (University of Verona), Giovanni Ricci (University of Ferrara) and Bruno Petey-Girard (Université Paris-Est Créteil).
In these three presentations, Renaissance specialists will look at the incessant and stimulating exchanges between Italy and France from a historical, linguistic and literary perspective.
Organised by the Natalino Sapegno Foundation.
Free admission.
