The bivouac was inaugurated in August 1955. It was dedicated to Duccio Manenti, a mountaineer from Turin who died in 1949 on the Rochefort ridge.

NOTES: the bivouac is no longer used given the close proximity of the Perucca-Vuillermoz refuge, although the area where it is located is very attractive

Access:
Starting from Piazza Carrel in Valtournenche , cross the Regional Road 46 near the pharmacy and take itinerary n°6A that goes down as far as the Valmartin bridge then up the municipal road to Valmartin.
From the village take path AV1 (Alta Via n.1) which goes through Promoron where you can see the buildings of the former pumping station and continues winding as far as the pasture homes of Falegnon. Then the trail goes into the Cignana valley heading for the dam. Turn left to reach Barmasse mountain hut otherwise to go to the bivouac keep to the right along the dirt road (N° 107) coming from the Cignana Dam and walk along the lake to reach the Cignana pasture homes.
At the bifurcation ignore the right branch leading to Finestra di Cignana and take the left-hand trail N° 35 or TC (Tour del Cervino) that heads up the slope under the Mont Rous with some difficult passages and then enters the valley.
Cross the river coming down from the Gran Lago and head to the left leaving below the Lago del Piano Superiore in order to face the last steep slope that leads to the Manenti Bivouac on the shores of the Balanselmo Lake.
To reach Perucca Vuillermoz mountain hut and the Mont Dragon Lake continue up the slope for about half an hour.
It’s also possible to reach the Manenti Bivouc leaving from Perrère. Take path Nr. 35 that goes up through the Finestra di Cignana Pass in 3h35.

The gym has internal dimensions of 19m x 35m with a minimum height of 7 meters and a total surface of 650 square meters and is equipped for you to play volleyball, basketball, tennis and five-a-side soccer. It is also endowed with an artificial climbing wall of about 150 square meters with a height of 7 meters. The gym has a section for the public with bleachers for about 120 sitting places.
Reservations are required.

There are two outdoor five-a-side football pitches, in synthetic grass: one measures 48 X 27 meters (for 7-a-side football), while the other measures 30 X 20 meters (for five-a-side football) and is illuminated.
There is the possibility to practice five-a-side football during the winter season inside the Oasi Association Sports Center Gym.

The field, uncovered and in synthetic grass, is located in Maen. It is equipped with 2 changing rooms, a grandstand for the public with about 250 seats and a lighting system for night use.

Soccer Billiards: the new thing for summer 2024 to challenge your friends!

Monday to Saturday. And also Sunday 3-11-18 August.

The basket/volley field is on the outside and the grass is synthetic.
There is the possibility to practice volleyball also inside the sports center gym.

The cabin starts from Valtournenche and arrives at Loc. Salette at an altitude of 2,245 m.

It’s open both in Summer and Winter to pedestrians and skiers.

At Salette  there  is a well-equipped children’s playground that allows maximum fun for children, giving adults the right relaxation pampered by the sparkling air of two thousand meters, in front of the Grandes Murailles and with a magnificent view of the valley.

There are two restaurants within walking distance of the arrival of the cabin. Another restaurant is 20 minutes walk along the path n. 23 (on request  they can do transport service)

The gym is gummed and measures 36 X 16 meters.
It is equipped with body-building machines and there is a climbing wall. It is a multifunctional facility where you can play five-a-side soccer, basket, volley and tennis.

A small but well-equipped playground on the snow, located at the arrival of the Valtournenche – Salette cable car, at an altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level, overlooking the mountain ridge of the Grandes Murailles.

The park has been designed for children under the age of 8 and is equipped with:

• Inflatable
• Carousel carousel
• Bobsled run

The cost of the park is € 8,00.

The opening of the park follows that of the cable car , from 10.00 to 16.00.

Two refreshment points within walking distance , with a large solarium and deck chairs, satisfy the desire for some typical dish and warm the heart with a good hot chocolate.

The Sports Center of Valtournenche, in addition to the numerous activities offered, is also equipped with a climbing wall suitable for all those who want to learn and practice in a protected environment, acquire awareness of the body and its movement and develop motor coordination.

The climbing structure is indoor, ideal for training during the long winter.
The only equipment you will need are climbing shoes and a harness (also available for hire).

For children and beginners introductory climbing courses are organized with 3 assisted ascents and simulation of climbing the “Matterhorn” fixed ropes at a cost of € 10.00.

The climbing lessons with the UIAGM Mountain Guide costs €50.00 per hour.

Indoor climbing is available from December 5th 2023 on the following days:

• Tuesday and Saturday: 19.00-22.00

The courses are organized by the Matterhorn Guides in collaboration with the Club des Sports.

The free excursion piste « Tour di Mande », not controlled, bordered and arranged, leaves from the arrival station of the Valtournenche-Salette cable car (2.281 m). It can be covered on foot or with snow rackets. There are loops of 4, 5 and 7 km in front of the enchanting panorama of the Grandes Murailles.

Vegetation mixed woodland consisting of mature Fir and Larch. There are occasional Scottish pine and Stone pine. The hardwood consists of Birch, Maple and Ash. Along the stream and marchy areas can be found Alder and Willow. Undergrowth: Fern, Elder, Blueberry, Dog-rose and Raspberry.

The equipped fitness route, which is divided into 14 stages, can be reached by following the Valtournenche regional road up to the Maen hamlet.

The route is flat and runs almost entirely along the shores of the lake, which is also a fishing reserve. It is also possible to travel along it in a wheelchair while in the nearby playground area there is a toilet accessible to people with motor disabilities.

It is possible to stop at one of the picnic tables located along the lake on the road side.

Riserva turistica del Consorzio Pesca: Marmore stream: from the Ussin hydroelectric dam (in Maen), Valtournenche.

Fishing is permitted seven days a week in the game fisheries managed by the fishing consortium.

The pool, 25 X 10 meters, is endowed with 5 lanes and has a depth ranging from 120 to 180 centimeters.
The center is also endowed with 2 saunas, a Turkish bath, relax room and solarium.
New weight room equipped with treadmill, exercise bike, step, spinning bike and weight machines.

Breuil-Cervinia Valtournenche Zermatt ski area

Looking onto the Matterhorn, at the foot of the magnificent Grandes Murailles, chain, Valtournenche (1620 m) links up with the Cime Bianche pass to the Breuil-Cervinia and Zermatt ski areas.
The area offers 54 km of runs suitable for both beginners and more experienced skiers.
The area is served by a 12-person gondola lift (carrying capacity 2400 p/h) that leaves from 3 large, convenient car parks.
25 km of slopes with programmed high-pressure snow cover allow for skiing on all the runs in the area.

On the Champlève plateau, 4 km from the centre of Valtournenche, in the direction of Cheneil, there are different loops: 1 km for beginners, a second loop of 3 km medium , a third one of 2 km medium difficulty. The place is sunny and quiet and very panoramic on the Grandes Murailles and the mountains in the surrounding.
The access to the tracks is located near to Bar “ Lo Baraquién”.
