Access: at the end of the regional road, take the farm road that, crossing the pastures, goes past Lake Leissé and climbs up to the arrival of the chairlift. From here, continue on the farm road that, with wide hairpin bends, climbs up to Couis 1. Just before the summit, you reach the Arno bivouac, following a branch of the path on the right.

Access:
From Pila head to the upper chairlift station at Chamolé and head in the direction of the lake of the same name (n.19C), from where the path (n.19) heads up the grassy slope on the left and leads to the Col Replan (2373 m) after several changes in gradient. From here, heading downwards, you will come to the Comboé houses. Carry on to the right (n.16) and, after crossing the river, head up the slope on the left until you come to Plan Valé, after which the path continues, again upwards, until it comes to the crossroads near a large rock. Follow the fork to the right (n.16A) that, after an initially gentle upward stretch, crosses the stony ground with steep hairpin bends until you come to the bivouac.

Pila is well - known for people who love gravity thanks to the Bike Stadium for downhill and free ride:

  • 1 track for competition of World Cup downhill
  • 3 blue tracks for free ride
  • 8 red tracks for free ride

The downhill World Cup track has been projected for professionist who want to test themselves with jumps and stunts. They have beeb tracked on natural ground and they show different difficulties: some of them are easy and some difficult.

Les Fleurs - Aosta free ride trail

The Les Fleurs - Aosta trail can be classified as an average difficulty enduro trail and is suitable both for downhill mountain biking, for those who love challenging themselves against the clock, and for freeride or enduro, for those who prefer enjoying the beautiful surrounding scenery. Bikers who enjoy tricks can also delight in the more technical passages including artificial stretches.

Pila Adventure Park

Adventure Parks  -  Pila

Find pure fun at Pila’s Adventure Park: immersed in the Alpine nature, adults and children challenge themselves to push their limits and stimulate cognitive, creative, and perceptive skills.

Expect Tibetan bridges, suspended walkways, zip lines, and rope bridges, always in total safety thanks to ropes, carabiners, harnesses, and the constant assistance of the park staff.

When you decide to start your adventure, allow about 45 minutes: 15 to get familiar with the equipment and 30 to complete one of the 4 courses designed for all agility levels:

  • Leprotti – fuchsia course: for the youngest (height between 1.3 m and 1.4 m*).
  • Scoiattoli – yellow course: simple, accessible to children (height between 1.4 m and 1.6 m*).
  • Marmotte – green course: for older children (height over 1.6 m*).
  • Camosci – blue course: challenging and suitable for the most experienced (height over 1.6 m*).

* Height is measured from the ground to the wrist with the arm stretched upward.

Total time for all courses: about 2 hours.

Baby Snow Park "Fun Park Chacard"

The Chacard Fun Park in Pila is a space designed entirely to allow children to experience the magic of the mountains in a protected environment.

Within the resort, the area offers a wide variety of fun activities: from snow tubing, bobsleigh and sledge runs, using rubber rings and sledges, to a side area reserved specifically for younger children, equipped with games and inflatable structures suitable for their age. 

The park is conveniently located in the Chacard area, to the right of the arrival point of the Aosta-Pila cable car.

Pila ski resort

Downhill skiing  -  Pila

Pila overlooks the city of Aosta, with which it is linked by an 18-km-long scenic road that is always open and by a brand-new eight-person gondola lift that will take you to the runs in just 18 minutes. A fully “skis-on” resort, Pila offers direct access to the lifts from all the hotels and tourist apartments.
70 km of slopes which run from the 1540 m altitude of Plan Praz to the 2750 m of the Couis 1, offering visitors breathtaking 360° views that range from Mont Blanc to the Grand-Combin, from the Matterhorn to Monte Rosa. Lift facilities with a total hourly capacity of 23,225 people provide access to an extremely varied ski area, renowned for the superb condition of the runs, which has plenty to keep everyone happy, from beginners right up to experts. The Areaeffe Snowpark at the Grimod cableway, served by a four-person chairlift offers plenty of fun for snowboarders and freestylers. The Snowpark is divided up into two sectors, one easier and another more challenging, where riders will find rails, box rails and fun boxes, linked up with various snow structures and kickers of up to 17 metres, and an authentic jibbing route over 500 m long. There is also a great sound system with just the right kind of music and an area where beginners can give freestyle a try in complete safety. Especially – but not exclusively – for children, Pila also boasts a lively, colourful ski school with play facilities and a magic carpet (for children aged 4 and up), and at the resort younger visitors will also find two mini-clubs, a bob and sledging area with magic carpet and an Adventure Park with routes of varying difficulty. Families are especially well catered for here, with special discounts and offers available.

Quickly reach altitude in a few minutes from Aosta without using the car and enjoy a breathtaking view of the valley.
Open in summer and winter.

 

Numerous 8-seater cabins depart from the city centre of Aosta and reach the tourist resort of Pila in 18 minutes, surrounded by fir and larch woods at 1,800 metres above sea level.

From December 2025, the Pila-Couis cableway is also operational: in just 15 minutes, it reaches the Stella di Pila, an exceptional panoramic point at 2,700 metres to admire the Alps from a spectacular perspective. The view stretches over the highest peaks of the Aosta Valley, from Mont Blanc to Grand Combin, from the Matterhorn to Monte Rosa.
