The are numerous and fantastic several day tours in this area, skiing Zermatt, Arolla, Verbier and returning to the Collon hut. There are classic runs on the famous “Chamonix-Zermatt” Haute glacier route and famous “La Patrouille di Glacier” mountaineering ski competition slope. The road is sometimes closed in the town of Bionaz. For information call the Bionaz town hall.

How to get here
Aosta Est highway exit. Take the road for Gran San Bernardo and follow the signs for Variney. Turn right for Valpelline and continue to the end of the valley and the Place Moulin dam.
Description of the route
Day one:
From the Place Moulin dam, 1,968 m, follow the road on the right bank to Cappella La Lé. Just ahead, turn left and follow the well-marked path that crosses the stream on a new wooden bridge. Cross the woods until you reach comba d’Oren. Continue along the valley floor passing near the La Garda chalet, 2,211 m, and then climb the moraines to Plan d’Gan. Turn right and follow the short channels to the plateaus in front of the Nacamuli-Collon hut (2,828 mt. 3:30h).
Day two:
Drop down and cross the left side of the valley without any beaten path to the wide Col Collon 3,114 m.
Continue for several minutes on the level ground and turn left, keeping the Arolla glacier on your left. Go around the small crevasses heading for Col d’Eveque, 3,392 m. Turn left again and follow the ridge to the 3,525 m peak. Use crampons for the last couple feet.
