Description of the route
When you reach the end of the road above Grand Brissogne in the municipality of Brissogne, you take a private road, closed to traffic, which climbs up to the mountain homes in Larp where this road finishes. From here you take footpath no. 1 which climbs zig-zag through the mixed evergreen wood and runs alongside the Laures mountain stream, which accompanies the entire climb up with spectacular water-falls. Once past the Alpine pastures of La Vieille and Tramail, you reach the hollow of Lac d’en Bas, the first of the Laures lakes. You walk along the side of the lake and come to the Ménabréaz bivouac. Going past the inlet to the lake, you continue upwards between the glacier-shaped rocks as far as the nearby Lac Long at the foot of the Grande Roise. Continuing on from here you come to the highest of the three lakes: Lac d’en Haut
