Description of the route
The lake, also known as Lake Maen, is an artificial basin located in the center of the valley at an altitude of 1311 metres.
To reach it, simply go up the Valtournenche by car from Châtillon (regional road n. 46) until just beyond the hamlet of Ussin. To the right of the road you can see the lake.
It offers a large picnic area and a flat route suitable for everyone that follows the banks of the lake.
From its banks you can admire the upper Valtournenche valley and some peaks including Punta Fontana Fredda, Petit and Grand Tournalin on the right and Pancherot and Monte Ersa on the left.
