Grauson Mountain Hut: situated at 2,510 m in the Grauson Valley, above the hamlet of Gimillan in Cogne, this is a cosy mountain hut in the heart of the Graian Alps,  open from summer through to autumn.  Recently built, it stands near Alpe Grauson Neuf, in a particularly picturesque natural setting.

It is an excellent starting point for numerous hikes, such as to the Lussert Lakes, the Col des Laures and crossings to neighbouring valleys.

The refuge features a restaurant/bar area and rooms and dormitories offering a total of around 30 beds, providing a comfortable stay at high altitude. From summer 2024, it will also feature a Starsbox, a small wooden cabin designed for couples to stay overnight, with a retractable roof allowing guests to sleep under the stars and fully enjoy the spectacle of the night sky.

How to get there

On foot: from the village of Gimillan, take path n. 8 on the right-hand side of the village; this leads through meadows, pastures and wooded sections to the mountain pastures of Tcheuseu, Pila and Grauson Désot. Once past this area, you will come to a junction take path 8A on the left, which climbs up to the refuge.
