This refuge was built during the early twentieth century in honour of Luigi Amedeo of Savoy and has been renovated more than once over the years; it is situated on the top of the Oriondé, in upper Valtournenche, and is the private property of A. Maquignaz.

How to get here
By car
Châtillon-Saint-Vincent motorway exit. Having reached the stop sign, turn right and, after a few hundred metres, just before the centre of Saint-Vincent, take the turn off on the right (signs for Cervinia) which, via the underpass, takes you onto strada statale (main road) 26 so that you can head towards Châtillon again.
Follow the strada statale (main road) for approximately one km until you reach the roundabout on the right of which you will find the regional road for Cervinia.
Carry on along it for 28 km going past the towns of Antey-Saint-André, Valtournenche and, after several bends, you will come across a tunnel on the other side of which the valley widens and where, after a short distance, you will find the characteristic Lago Blu (Blue Lake).
Carrying on further you will reach a tunnel, as you go into the town, and then Breuil Cervinia, where you can leave your car, close to the golf course, to carry on on foot on the unsurfaced road.
By public transport
The nearest train station is in Châtillon.
