Saturday at the Alpe: nature, history and taste!

Excursion along the Ru Courtod with its fascinating views of Monte Rosa, to reach the Alpe Metsan, where the farm La Tchavana is located, with its cheese cellar, which is the highest in Europe (2012 m above sea level). Open all year round. 

The itinerary starts from the large parking lot of Barmasc and follows the historic Ru Courtod (irigation channel) through bucolic landscapes dotted with different alpine pastures. The final destination is Alpe Metsan, where the farm Tschavanna is located. Once there, you will enjoy a well-deserved snack-break.

Difficulty: T1 (easy hike)

Recommended clothing, equipment and materials: hiking boots or boots, warm clothes in layers, wind jacket, a mountian backpack, a thermos with hot drink or water bottle, cap, gloves, sunglasses. Camera is recommended.
