The historic characteristics of the Val di Rhêmes can now be seen in the architecture and layout of some of its villages. There are numerous buildings in Vieux and Coveyrand and one, dated 1696, highly reflects the nearby “L’Ola” farmhouse in Introd, especially for its cylinder pillars. There is a building in the village of Melignon which presumably dates back to the seventeenth century with an 1849 fresco on the facade.
