An international Nature Film Festival
Ente Progetto Natura, the association that deals with nature conservation through the development of nature cinema, has organised the “Stambecco d’Oro” international Nature Film Festival in Cogne since 1984. The initial years were dedicated to amateurs, however, the event has since grown in international importance, becoming comparable to the British Wildscreen Festival in Bristol and the American Jackson Hole Festival in Wyoming.In more recent editions, films have come from: Argentina, New Zealand, Mexico, Japan, Scandinavia, South
Africa, UK, USA, Spain, Russia, Serbia, China and India.
The films screened are produced by television companies and the most important production companies in the world: National Geographic, BBC, ABC, New Zealand Television, Survival Anglia, RAI-Paneikon, etc …
The biennial Festival of Nature and Science Film presents films selected from among the many sent to the organisation's office. Awards are presented by several juries: the people's jury awards the Stambecco d’Oro Trophy to the best film, while the technical jury assigns the
“Parco nazionale del Gran Paradiso” award, the “Marisa Caccialanza” award, the “Comune di Cogne” award, the 'Lipu'award and the “WWF" award. Screenings take place in the afternoon and evening, with free entry to the “Maison de la Grivola” Conference Centre and the Auditorium of the schools of Cogne.In addition to film showings, the Stambecco d’Oro Festival also features conferences, exhibitions, etc....
