Guided trips and visits: Arnad

 Wonderful and interesting itinerary, following an ancient military road, among chestnut forests. You will pass by a Sanctuary, a small village, some old fortifications to reach the highest point of the itinerary, from where you can enjoy a spectacular view.

Full day excursion across chestnut and beech woods along an ancient military dirt road, famous because Napoleon and his troops passed by at the beginning of the 19^th century. You will reach the Sanctuary of Machaby  (dating back to the 15^th century) and its surrounding village.  The itinerary continues towards Tete de Cou, where you can find some military ruins and climb to the upper hill, a place from where you can enjoy a splendid view of the surrounding landscape. You will be able to see from the highest peaks to the bottom of the valley. At the end of the hike you will conclude the loop itinerary returning exactly to the starting point: the village of Arnad.
