Lillianes - Santa Margherita

One-day excursions  -  Lillianes

Start from Lillianes and reach the village and the chapel of Vers-Rouby, consecrated to Our Lady of the Carmes. Go up the slope on the left bank crossing various villages and visiting the chapel of the Suc-Dessus until you reach the locality called Le Molinier with its oratory. Begin to descend to Les Granges and continue on level ground to the oratory dedicated to Saint-Défendent, the ancient patron of the parish, placed on a balcony from which it is possible to admire the panorama over the whole village of Lillianes and the lower Lys valley. During the return, along the path, we can note the chapels of Santa Margherita and Le Mattet, Les Sales and La Barbiat and some architectural particularities: rascard and mauson de gra. The road takes you back to the village, near the church in the historic center, and by crossing the four-arched bridge you reach the parish church of Lillianes.

Lillianes - Village of Suc

One-day excursions  -  Lillianes

You can leave your car in the Salé hamlet, where there is an old chapel, built in 1875. Go down for a short distance and proceed almost under some rocks, overhanging, continuing in the middle of the chestnut trees, in the locality called Moulin for the presence of an old mill, now completely destroyed by the waters of the stream. After a short climb you reach a bridge, which in three large arches crosses the two streams of Verney and Stouba. Entering the canton of Uvert, you pass under a large overhanging boulder. The path is very wide, safe, with railings and walkways anchored to the rock. The last walkway is the longest and most spectacular one, from which there is an exceptional panorama on the village, on the canton of Coillour or of Saint Margherita, from which we are coming, and on the two cantons on the right side: Vallomy and Chemp. Continue through shrubs and marshes, cross a small stream, an area of chestnut groves, recently pruned and cleaned up, and arrive at the village of Suc, where the municipal road arrives, where we find a 1713 chapel dedicated to Notre Dame des Gràces or des Sept Douleurs.

Santa Margherita - Col Giassit

One-day excursions  -  Lillianes

When you get to Santa Margherita, in the municipality of Lillianes, continue along the flat mule track alongside terraces and farmhouses. A short climb takes you up to the pastures, then cross the entire basin to the point where the valley becomes narrower. Start climbing up steep crags covered in conifers. Cross the stream over two small bridges and continue climbing, going under a rocky balcony on which stands the Pian Sapei cabin (1504 m). The trail is marked with red signs and continues up past small cabins on flat land alternating with steeper sections. Trail winds up the final slopes to reach a wooden cross on the hill.
