The bivouac, inaugurated in 1985, is dedicated to Mario Gontier, a mountaineer from Aymavilles who died in 1983.

Access:
From Vieyes, follow the path n. 5 that goes up through the woods towards the houses of Plan Pessey until you reach the crossroad in direction of Becca Plana pass and Arpissonnet. Continue straight ahead, keeping to the side of the torrent until you pass some abandoned cottages and have to cross the torrent towards the houses of Petit Nomenon. Cross the torrent on the wooden footbridge and, continue going up alongside the torrent until you reach the Grand Nomenon mountain pasture, where the bivouac is located.

Equipment: Bunk beds, matresses, blankets, kitchen appliances, wooden stove.

Rafting Republic organises rafting trips on the Dora Baltea near the centre of Aymavilles, just two minutes from the Aosta Ovest motorway exit. Activities for all levels can be offered:  from Family trips for younger children (aged 6 or over, or at least 1 metre tall) to the Advanced route, our most adrenaline-fuelled option for those aged 16 and over. 
The 3,500 m² green area welcomes participants with a practice pool, hot showers, changing rooms and the "La maison d’été" snack bar. 
The descents are led by instructors certified by the Italian Rafting Federation, ensuring maximum safety. All sanitised equipment is provided, including Mares wetsuits and CE-certified devices, and transport to the embarkation points is arranged directly.
