The Val de Gressoney is the first you meet as you enter Val d’Aosta if you are coming from the Po Valley. The Valley starts at Pont-Saint-Martin and is wedged into a narrow corridor which then opens out in the sight of Monte Rosa, a spectacular mountain with 28 peaks above 4,000 metres and which is the natural boundary with Switzerland.
