From Pila head to the upper chairlift station at Chamolé and head in the direction of the lake of the same name (n.19C), from where the path (n.19) heads up the grassy slope on the left and leads to the Col Replan (2373 m) after several changes in gradient. From here, heading downwards, you will come to the Comboé houses. Carry on to the right (n.16) and, after crossing the river, head up the slope on the left until you come to Plan Valé, after which the path continues, again upwards, until it comes to the crossroads near a large rock. Follow the fork to the right (n.16A) that, after an initially gentle upward stretch, crosses the stony ground with steep hairpin bends until you come to the bivouac.

Equipment: blankets, water in the lake nearby.
