A full day hike to discover the Great St. Bernard Pass. The day hike will follow a scheduled programme. After the meeting with the guide, you will drive to the Great St. Bernard Pass reaching 2473 metres of altitude above sea level. During the entire excursion you will be surrounded by a wonderful high mountain environment dominated by the presence of a splendid lake.
You will leave the cars and follow a section of the Belvedere trail. Right there you will start to reach the wonderful panoramic terrace called “Petite Chenalette”, situated at 2664 metres above sea level. On the way you can visit the kennel where you can meet the Gran San Bernardo dogs. You will also have the opportunity to visit the special museum section adjacent the kennel (price 12€ for adults and 7€ for children), showing you glimpses of the life of the monks who live in the monastery all year round.
The excursion may be may be modified or cancelled for safety reason, or adverse weather conditions. The hiking guide will make these decisions according to his final judgement.
