I Custodi delle Vette - The Guardians of the Peaks

The halls of the Château de Saint-Pierre host a selection of 21 photographs from the project 100 Years for 100 Photos, launched in 2023 by the Department of Veterinary Sciences of the University of Turin to celebrate the centenary of the Gran Paradiso National Park.

The photographs, taken by Luca Giordano, depict the wildlife of the mountain peaks: ibex, chamois, alpine landscapes, and glimpses of the park's protected fauna. The images are not displayed in a separate space but are distributed throughout the Museum's exhibition space, in a continuous dialogue with the castle's natural history collections. Each photograph is inserted into the context of the rooms dedicated to the Aosta Valley ecosystems, amplifying the story of Alpine nature that the Museum offers visitors.
