At the Fort of Bard, The Best of Cycling is back, the photography exhibition dedicated to the world of two wheels, now in its 5th edition and perfectly aligned with the Giro d’Italia, which this year also stops in the Aosta Valley.

Set up in the Fort’s Scuderie rooms, the exhibition features around sixty photographs selected from those submitted to the 9th edition of the competition launched by Roberto Bettini, a legendary name in cycling photography. The exhibition is curated by journalist Federico Bona, a longtime collaborator of the Giro.

The images, all taken during the previous cycling season, portray major international events, local races, road cycling, track cycling, mountain biking, and every expression of the sport — male and female, professional and amateur, adult and youth.

The first prize was awarded to Sara Cavallini for a striking black-and-white photograph of the Crete Senesi taken during the Strade Bianche Women.
Second place went to Belgian photographer Stijn Bastens, who captured the enthusiasm of the fans cheering for Van der Poel, while third place was awarded to Dutch photographer Joris Knapen for a shot taken during the Giro d’Italia.
The symbol of this edition is the image of Tadej Pogačar by Gian Mattia D'Alberto, celebrating his fifth victory at the Giro di Lombardia.
