Saturday hike to the Alpe: nature, history and taste!

Excursion along the Ru Courtod (irrigation channel), offering breathtaking views of Mount Rosa to reach the Alpe Metsan, where the farm La Tchavana is located, with its cellar for maturing cheeses, which is aloso the highest in Europe (2012 m above sea level ). Open all year round.

This itinerary starts from the large parking lot of Barmasc and follows the historic Ru Courtod crossing bucolic landscapes dotted with several alpine pastures. Your final destination will be the Alpe Metsan, where the farm Tchavana is located. Once there you will enjoy a well-deserved break.

Difficulty: T1 (easy hike)

Recommended clothing, equipment and materials: hiking boots,  warm clothes in layers, wind-proof jacket, backpack, thermos with hot drink, or a bottle of water, cap, gloves, sunglasses. Camera is recommended.
