Street Art Revolution. Banksy and companions: art itineraries is the new exhibition project of the Forte di Bard dedicated to one of the most significant forms of expression of contemporary art. Born in the suburbs of New York, Street Art has been able to cross cultural and geographical borders, evolving into a language capable of involving an increasingly wider audience, challenging rules and social conventions.
The exhibition, set up in the Cannoniere rooms, presents 50 works that retrace the stylistic and technical evolution of the movement, highlighting the ability of Street Art to confront reality and overcome social, political and cultural frontiers. In this journey, which unfolds in six thematic sections, we start from the pioneers of graffiti such as Taki183 and Seen, to arrive at the big international names such as Banksy, Obey and JR, without neglecting the vibrant French, Italian and European scenes that enrich the panorama of urban art.
The Bard fortress, always a crossroads of ideas and passages, becomes the center of a widespread art itinerary: alongside the works on display - including a mural by Edoardo Ettorre - there are two site-specific installations created by Raul and the Truly Design collective in the external spaces of the fort. The project then extends into the territory of the lower Aosta Valley, involving Donnas, Pont-Saint-Martin and Perloz with new works by Damiano Mengozzi, Madame and Hitnes, created during the exhibition.
An exhibition that is also a journey, where urban art merges with the Alpine landscape, in a continuous dialogue between creativity and territory.
