A day at the fortress

The village of Bard is a gem of mediaeval architecture. Visitors can stroll through little mediaeval lanes and streets, visit buildings and palaces built by important families, cross narrow, elegant hump-backed bridges, with the sensation all the time that the village is there just for us to enjoy. The village of Bard is easy to reach, simple to find your way around, and is dominated by the huge military complex of the Fortress of Bard, up to which three lifts lead, offering exceptional views over the central valley and the stone roofs of the village.

To live this experience, we suggest you stay in the Hotel Cavour et des Officiers of the Fortress of Bard, created in the rooms of the old garrison, above the bread oven, inside the Opera Carlo Alberto of the Fortress of Bard. The hotel can be reached by means of panoramic lifts.

The visit program includes the guided tour of the fortified complex, admission to the temporary exhibitions and permanent museums of the fortress, a lunch with a tasting menu at the La Polveriera restaurant and a dinner at a renowned trattoria in the medieval hamlet.
